Shopping with Muffin
I had some family come in to town. Namely, my loving and totally crazy godsister, Muffin. Incidentally, she’s my son’s godmother. (By the way, she’s tall and amazingly sexy. Can you feel the envy oozing off of me?) She came down from New York for the Miami Carnival. (We’re West Indian. We can’t help that we have to take time off of work to party for a week!) I was never a party person myself, but I’ll go for her. Don’t get me wrong! I do my thing when I’m ready! She came for the parties, the beach and the shopping. And us! At least, I keep telling myself that…
You know, it’s funny. I actually prefer shopping in New York than here in South Florida. I find the better bargains to be up north. Muffin, however wanted to go to the outlet mall. (The city has great deals, but no outlet mall. I’m beginning to see her point.) Joe and I take her. She wants to go to Polo, Burberry, Coach, Michael Kors, Miss Sixty, Barney’s, Nordstrom, Victoria’s…..
Sigh! Lots of shopping. She goes with Jin and the two of them have a veritable ball! (Joe and I had to take Baby Boy to a birthday party. We met up with them after. She was still shopping.) Bags of stuff. It just so happens that this week we didn’t have much in regard to excess cash. Why? Well, the car needed to be fixed. Bye bye surplus cash! Hello, unhappy Tri!
First stop. Coach. And that’s where the tears began. We all know how much I love bags. Whether they are designer or not, I love them. Coach had a HUGE sale! Bags were anywhere from 25-50% off with an additional 20% off your entire purchase. (They flow freely down my face at this point.) There were some really cute ones that I wanted, but did not buy. I had the will power to say no. (Rather, not yet…)
Then I walked into Michael Kors. There is nothing sexier than a Michael Kors bag. I love that man and his designs. I openly sobbed. I literally had to walk out and breathe. I swear the sales woman was looking at me like I was crazy. (There was this one bag that I kept touching. It’s the black one. I’m getting it. I am!) We walked into Burberry. There were these Ochre Yellow shoes that cost about $300. Sooo sexy. I could tell, though, that after about 5 minutes of walking they would start to hurt your feet. That didn’t stop me from taking a pic though. Also in Burberry was this really sweet gray sweater coat.
I took a whole lot of pics. Can you tell I’m a little weird. I love colors! But I’m very big on neutrals. Balance is king in my world! Muffin bought this really cute brown Coach bag and some Coach sneakers. She ended up taking them back, stating that Coach wasn’t “that big In New York anymore.” Whatever. As far as I’m concerned, if I like it I’m getting it. Whether you think it’s trendy or not. Happy shopping!

Let me state that Trilala was an excellent hostess…the shopping was a piece of cake like she stated I live in NY when you go to outlet malls the plan is not get in and get out! You must go with the intentions of all da shopping…now ladies trendy is always good but when being trendy you must have a splash or hint of you so I happy shopping
Thanks Muffin! I completely agree. Trendy is good, but you have to show who you are in your clothing. I miss you!
