Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Nordstrom is a name synonymous with the latest fashions, trends and styles for both men and women. Apparently their Anniversary Sale is a major event… that I was completely unaware of. (Being a New Yorker for most of my life, we didn’t have Nordstrom around….But that’s going to change in 2018!!!)
The fabulous thing about Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is that it allows you to pick up the new Fall Designer fashions at a discounted price of up to 50% off. Starting July 20th, for the next two weeks, you can go into any Nordstrom and buy next season’s hottest fashions. This includes beauty products, shoes and clothing from everyone including Rachel Zoe, Marc Jacobs, Burberry and more.
I had the opportunity to preview this event, which women actually base their summer vacations around. Want proof of that? My aunt actually has a friend who goes to Washington D.C. every year to meet with her Nordstrom personal stylist (Yes, I said personal stylist) specifically for this event. Without fail, Every Year. Why did I not know about this event before? Point is, now that I do, I will be there every year from now on. Be afraid men…this is beyond serious.
Being plus-sized, I had some reservations that Nordstrom would have anything for me, and on sale to boot. I was pleasantly surprised when I was introduced to the Encore section. Not frumpy, matronly or mumu-ish, I could absolutely see myself wearing several items from Elie Tahari, Eileen Fisher and Nic and Zoe (just to name a few).

I loooove Nordstroms. I grew up being a Nordstroms girl even before my town got one. My grandmother loved to shop there & I looked forward to the silver & gold gift boxes every Christmas & birthday!
I’ve never shopped at a Nordstrom. I’m not even sure how far I’d have to drive to find one. I do hear nothing but good things, though. And I like to items you’ve shared here. The shoes are fabulous and I love the colors in their clothes line. Plus size women are just as beautiful and should be given choices to match. I think its great that more designers are starting to appeal to that market, more.
We don’t have a nordstroms unfortunately. I think we may get one one day.

Yeah I am a New Yorker who’s living in LA. When I first moved here I learned Nordstrom affectionately known as Nordies is the store of choice. Every year around my birthday they have this sale. Usually its new fall items at discount. I alway go way too far at the sale. If you check out my blog you notice I give away a $50 gift card to Norstrom to my Girls Best Friend Beauty’s. Nordstrom is by far my favorite department store.
That’s the thing…when I moved to Florida a few years back, that was the first time I had heard about Nordstrom. I fell in love instantly!
It is really awesome that Nordstrom had clothing available to fit plus size women that isn’t frumpy or “matronly.” That is a huge problem for me as well, and I run into it often which is really unfortunate because a lot of places could probably make a killing off me, and other women like me, if only they would have fashionable clothing in our sizes!
