The Tent at Boston Fashion Week
Last night I was lucky enough to attend The Tent, the opening night fashion show and gala for Boston Fashion Week. As this was my first year, I didn’t know what to expect, but I had a ball. The runway show consisted of several selections from various designers and was styled by Nordstrom’s head stylist.
Chunky heels, big bags, mixing patterns and materials, printed stockings, and loads of pretty embellishments overthrew the runway with clothing and accessories from names such as Topshop Topman, Kate Spade, Diane Von Furstenberg, Elizabeth and James, and Vince Camuto, among others. There was a noted homage to vintage 40′s glam within different elements, especially the makeup with its focus on minimal eyes and bold red lips.
I was luck enough to meet Fern Mallis, the Executive Director of the CFDA and founder of NY Fashion Week. It was an honor to hear her speak and give out advice, not only to new and aspiring designers and writers, but to the people on a whole. Her number one rule? BE NICE!
And a side note, as promised I did wear that sweet Tahari dress that I bought from Nordstrom with a pair of bright pink satin Michael Antonio pumps.
Take a look at a few pictures from the fashion show. Don’t worry, within the next few days I’ll be supplying you all with pictures of some serious Shoe Stalking, and designs from new up-and-coming designers in the Boston area. I would love to hear what you think!

Is that Fern Mallis? Palpitations, I tell you!
