The Tent at Boston Fashion Week {Day 2: Saturday Love}

Another round of runway shows on Saturday afternoon! I went to the 4pm, 6pm and 8pm shows featuring the designs of Avni, Luke Aaron and MariaVictoria, respectively.

I won’t lie. After personally meeting and speaking to Maria, the MariaVictoria designer, I couldn’t wait to see her show. I was also extremely interested in seeing Avni’s designs because she is an eco-friendly designer. As for Luke Aaron, I didn’t know what to expect, but was still pleasantly surprised by his garden party to bridesmaid-esque designs.

I was rather underwhelmed with Avni’s designs, though the concept was there. There was so much more potential, but I’ll save that for another day.

Honestly, this was the only of her designs that really did it for me. For the most part, I think the accessories, makeup and hair all took center stage on a runway that was to be focused on clothing.

As for Luke Aaron, I had no preconceptions. I loved just about every item from his collection. He says he was inspired by origami. Full of saturated pastels and structured yet flowing pieces, he is a designer to keep an eye on.

Having previewed MariaVictoria’s designs, I knew that she had a more urban line. Her clothes are sexy, body conscious, and youthful. She uses color, pattern and clean lines. This line can be worn by women of any shape, size, color and age. I’m looking forward to more coming out of this designer.

What do you think of the fashions from Saturday’s showing at The Tent? Which of these is your favorite? Follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for some major Shoe Stalking and Style Watching!

    I can see the origami inspiration in Luke Aaron’s pieces. They have a definite femininity to them as well!
