Are you a Sweaty Betty?
Cue drama. I will be sweating it out like nobody’s business. I have started an intense regimen of diet (kinda sorta) and exercise that I will probably slack off of, only to turn around and start again.
I’m sorry to admit, I don’t own lots of workout clothes. I have two sports bras (that I wear a bra under because the girls are on the large side), and a pair of paint stained yoga pants. Along with various oversized shirts stolen from my ex.
That doesn’t make for suitable yoga or running attire. Yes, I said running. In public, no less. Let me explain.
Every year in Trinidad, the weeks before Lent are filled with music, revelry and incredibly sexy bodies in eensie weensie itty bitty pieces of clothing.
I kid you not. Mardi Gras ain’t got nothing on Trini Carnival. It’s a serious thing. The people of the island, along with all the others around the world who will be joining them to go to the various fetes and to play mas, quite literally start getting ready for the next year a mere week after the current year’s festivities have finished.
The stamina required to jump up and down for hours on end in the blazing hot sun is indescribable. What’s my point?
I will be attending next year. I haven’t gone in about a decade and I don’t exactly look (or feel) the same. I’m telling you…the bodies that you see on some of these men and women you just know that they are working out like madmen.
Enter Sweaty Betty.
First, let’s talk about how much I love that name. Betty happens to be a nickname that I give my close girlfriends. So I saw this as a sign. This is a UK based company that has some of the cutest workout wear. I actually want to get up and get dressed (which is half the battle).
Second, there is a vast array of styles for different types of workouts. It’s not just cute yoga pants. And you don’t run the risk of anyone seeing your heart covered derriere. Sweaty Betty yoga clothes, among many of the other clothing options, features sweat-wicking and quick dry technology, along with non-chafing seams. Yes to all of it!
You can find clothes on Sweaty Betty based on your workout activity. From yoga and Pilates to ballet and even skiing! There are even sports bras for someone with my ample assets. These clothes are for the woman looking to work out and train in style, not just stand around looking cute. Although, that could work too.
